As far as beaches go, I admittedly don’t spend too much time beyond Venice. But Dockweiler has its own personality: there’s an easy bike path, miles of beachfront and (my now favorite feature) fire pits. Parking is free if you’re willing to walk a little farther and a flat fee of $8.00 inside the actual park (worth it, especially if you’re dragging all manner of beach item).
Last night, we watched the sunset and spent the rest of the time around a beautiful fire; something I hadn’t done in years (and never while planted firmly in the sand, watching the waves crash in). It’s a special part of the California lifestyle to be able to do this – I recommend everyone make the time. Friends, fun and fire = perfection. â±đđ„
